The popular LM3909 can't flash those High Intensity LEDs with a single 1.5V battery. This IC can boost a AAA battery to about 2.75 Volts to the LM3909 under load to lite up those high intensity LED's requiring higher voltages. Parallel wire ICL7660's to provide needed current.
