    Description

    2 Aztec Bookends by Michael Anthony Zarebski circa 1960.. Condition is "Used" , therefore any touch ups or cleaning wlll be left to the new owner.
    These bookends represent the :God of Life" in Aztec Culture.
    In the 1960s these were purchased in Mexico.
    The material is believed to be Malachite which was a resin mix.  That was used for molding items.
    Malachite is considered to be a rare gemstone because the orginal deposits for the stones have. been depleted leaving behind few sources.
    The use of Malachite for gemstones and sculptural materials remains popular today as they were throughout history.
    These measure 6 2/4 tall, 4 1/4 Wide, and 2 3/4 deep.
    These are very heavy.  They weigh 2,362 grams or over 5 lbs.  The price of Malachite per gram is 18 cent per gram to 39 cents per gram.
