Description
DescriptionThis is an MSGEQ7 graphic equalizer breakout board. It divides the incoming audio spectrum into seven bands. These seven frequencies are peak detected and multiplexed to the output to provide a DC representation of each band.
The MSGEQ7 can be used to analyze audio fed in through the stereo jack on the board. The data can be sent to an Arduino, Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, or other microcontroller. This can be useful for timing lights to music as seen
here
.
As eBay forbids links, I mention that datasheets are available freely on the internet. Sample Arduino code can be found by searching online for "GitHub engineertype MSGEQ7."
Both the left and right channels are fed into the MSGEQ7. This gives a good representation of what is heard by your ears. A stereo version of this board can be found
here
.
Designed and manufactured in California.
