Description

This listing is for a PsNee chip for the PlayStation 1 (PS1/PSX/PSone).
PsNee chips are a more modern alternative to the older PS1 chips like the MM3 or Mayumi V4. They have better compatibility across all PS1 models by using more advanced software.
This listing is for the PsNee, but I can also send a MM3, or Mayumi v4 chip if you'd prefer. Just send a message immediately after ordering, or include it in the message to seller field at checkout.
There are two versions of the PsNee. ATmega based ones, and ATtiny based ones. The ATmega based chips are much larger, cost more, and are necessary for PAL PSones that require BIOS patching. The ATtiny based chips are smaller (the same size as a MM3), cheaper, and work with all PlayStation 1 models except the PAL PSones that require BIOS patching. At the moment I'm only selling ATtiny based chips, but if there is enough interest I'll sell the ATmega chips as well.
I use genuine ATtinyX5 (ATtiny25, ATtiny45, or ATtiny85) chips purchased from places like Digikey or Mouser.
I program and test each chip myself.
The chips are programmed to work with American (NTSC-U/C), Japanese (NTSC-J), and European (PAL) PS1 consoles.
This listing is for a prewired chip, meaning that I have soldered an ~12" 30 AWG wire to each of the necessary pins of the chip. Wire color may vary. Check my eBay page for other available wiring options.
I do not accept offers for orders of a single chip at a time.
I only offer a small discount for bulk orders (because of the reduced shipping costs).
I have wiring diagrams on my website. Just search my name on Google, or read the third image on the listing. There will also be a link to the diagrams on the chip's packaging.
Features:
Compatible with all PS1 consoles, from the original SCPH-1001 through the slim SCPH-101 (not fully compatible with PAL PSones though, because of BIOS region locking). May not work with board revision
1-679-335-61. Also not fully compatible with newer Japanese region systems.
Works with all games.
Installation requires only six wires to be soldered.
The design is open source, you can search PsNee on Github, or I can send you a link if you ask in a message.
Installation notes:
I have wiring diagrams on my website. Just search my name on Google, or read the third image on the listing.
You'll need a fine point soldering iron, solder, and wire cutters/strippers.
Keep your wires as short as possible.
If you are having trouble playing games make sure your wires are short, and your soldering connections are good. If you are still having problems try burning your games at a slower speed.
If you are having trouble playing games sometimes restarting the console fixes the problem.
I ship all orders through USPS. First Class shipping is available for free, and Priority Mail is an option that costs extra.
I ship within one business day of payment (Monday-Friday).
I use USPS First Class International mail to ship to Canada and some other countries. Typically it only takes a few weeks to be delivered, but could potentially take much longer (30 days or more) if it stays in customs for a while. Keep this in mind when ordering if you live outside of the United States.
I only have so many listed, but I can add additional stock as needed.
If you have any questions, or need help with your installation, just send me a message.
