    1. The Problem of Atmospheric Dispersion
Like a big glass prism or lens, the Earth's atmosphere refracts or bends the light from stars or planets on its way to a telescope, and it bends light of different colors by slightly different degrees. This effect is called atmospheric dispersion and it results in greater refraction of blue and green light than red light, for example. It's the same effect that causes the well-known 'Green Flash' on the upper edge of the Sun as it sets below the horizon.
Of course, when you're imaging the planets or the Moon, especially when their light travels through the thick atmosphere above the horizon, dispersion is a big problem. If you're doing color imaging of planets low near the horizon, dispersion results in color fringing of the image. It can be removed with processing but at the cost of detail and resolution. If you image in monochrome with separate LRGB frames, you still suffer from atmospheric dispersion in the luminance frame. Even visual observers can notice the effects of dispersion when observing planets and the Moon low on the horizon where the effects of atmospheric dispersion are greatest.
    2. Dispersion Compensation for Astroimagers and Visual Observers
The ZWO Atmospheric Dispersion Corrector (ADC) is an ingenious device that compensates for the effects of atmospheric dispersion. The ZWO ADC uses a pair of prisms that can be precisely adjusted with manual levers to apply the opposite dispersion induced by the atmosphere. The device then directs all colors of light to re-converge at the focal plane. The adjustment can range from null (no correction) to maximum refraction suitable for correcting for the well-understood effect of atmospheric dispersion at a range of altitudes above the horizon.
The effect of using the ZWO ADC? Greatly improved image resolution and detail for both imagers and visual observers, even when the planet is just above the horizon. You no longer need to wait hours for the planet to get higher in the sky during the night, or years for the planet to reach a more favorable opposition.
    3. Designed for Ease of Use and Optimum Image Quality
The ZWO Atmospheric Dispersion Corrector consists of three pieces. The main body holds the corrective prisms and adjustment levers. It includes two lever slots that overlap to allow both levers to move together over a wide range. There's also a 1.25" barrel adapter for the bottom of the main body to mount to a Barlow, and another 1.25" adapter for the top of the body to accept the camera or eyepiece. The outside of the top eyepiece/camera holder also includes male T threads to allow you to directly mount a camera with the appropriate threading.
The ZWO ADC works best at large focal ratios, so you get optimum results when you place the device between a Barlow lens and the camera or eyepiece.
The body of the ADC also has a white locking screw on the scale to mark the null point about which the levers are rotated to get the optimum correction of a given planet at a given altitude. This allows you to finely position the null point without having to rotate the body of the ADC. The levers also have an adjustable frictional resistance for ease of use.
The prisms in the ZWO ADC have a 2° deviation angle and are made from H-K9L (Schott BK7) glass with surfaces polished to 1/10 wave accuracy. All optical surfaces are AR-coated to ensure >98% transmission over the visible spectrum.
Priced at a fraction of competing ADC solutions, the ZWO Atmospheric Dispersion Corrector is one of the few devices available to counteract the distorting effects of our atmosphere. Designed by amateur astronomers for amateur astronomers, the ZWO ADC helps you extract maximum detail when observing or imaging the Moon and planets.
    Please note:
    1) The ADC has no magnifying power, so it will not push the focus point in or out relative to your current focus point. However, this means that the amount of in-focus travel required is equivalent to the physical length of the ADC body which is 56mm. This is a significant amount, so not all telescopes might be able to reach focus with this accessory. If you are using a barlow placed in front of the ADC for imaging, the barlow would push the focal plane backwards (away from the scope) reducing the amount of in-focus travel needed. However, the exact amount would depend on the optical parameter of the barlow and the barlow-to-ADC distance.
    2) The eyepiece holder only comes with 2 screws as pictured, even though it is drilled for 3 screws.
    Note:
Occasionally, the product you receive might have a slightly different cosmetic appearance or labeling than what is shown. This can often change from batch to batch according to the whims of the manufacturer. However, you will always receive a brand new, original product as described above.

    4. INTERNATIONAL ORDERING / SHIPPING
    Shipping Cost:
Click on the "Shipping and Payments" tab above and select your country to see your shipping choices and cost. If you need a shipping cost estimate for multiple items, please contact us.
    Delivery Time:
    1) USPS First Class International:
Delivery takes about 3-4 weeks after we ship your package.
This can frequently take 4-6 weeks or more for several countries (8 weeks for Italy, Argentina, and South Africa; 8-12 weeks for Brazil)
    .
THERE IS NO TRACKING FOR FIRST CLASS SHIPMENTS. The information shown in your eBay account is just a customs form number - it is NOT a tracking number as incorrectly indicated by eBay.
Once your package ships, we can do nothing but wait until your package arrives. Please do not become impatient and contact us in 2-3 weeks if your package has not arrived. If you don't receive the package in 6 weeks, contact us and we will work with you to resolve the issue. If you don't want to take the risk of this delay, then DO NOT USE First Class mail - use Priority or Express shipping instead.
    (2) USPS Priority Mail International:
Delivery takes 1 - 2 weeks after we ship your package. This can sometimes take 3-4 weeks to several countries. The USPS provides some basic tracking information for Priority shipping.
    (3) USPS Express Mail International:
Delivery usually takes 5-10 business days after we ship your package. You will receive a tracking number with which you can track your shipment from USPS.com. Note: If you use this option, you must send us your phone number when you check-out or else your shipment will be delayed. This is required for international postal forms.
Again, these delivery times are NOT guaranteed by the US Postal Service. The most common reason for delays is slow customs inspection and clearance in your country, and can be very long, even for Express mail packages. Upon shipping your order, delivery delays are beyond our control, so do not leave us negative feedback or file a Paypal claim if your package is delayed. Delays are quite common but losses are very rare, so your patience/cooperation will be greatly appreciated.
    Customs and Duties:
You are responsible for any duties and taxes that may be levied in your country. These are not included in the item price or shipping cost. We have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be or if they will be levied upon delivery. Customs policies vary widely from country to country (Some countries such as UK are strict about imposing hefty customs duties). It is your responsibility to check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying. Customs fees are normally charged by the delivery company or your country's postal service, or collected when you pick the item up. These fees are NOT additional shipping charges.
